Music is a universal language that links all cultures and traditions of the world.
On the occasion of the Festival of Creative Culture 2016 “Living a world of sounds”, MILE School has faced a journey among different peoples and their sounds.
Thanks to the intervention of the Cultural Association Equivoci Musicali (artistic director mezzo soprano Rachel O’Brien) students of the second and third grade of MILE School Primary have been involved in laboratory activities devoted to multiculturalism in its musical sense.
Actors, musicians, and opera singers have involved children in activities devoted to the discovery of a specific sonority linked to a population and its tradition (Africa, Oceania, South America and Asia), as well as the African paths with its djembes to the tattoos and Maori Haka dance of Oceania.
At the end of the morning all the students involved in this musical experience, performed the final show “Around the World in 80 sounds.“. The plot of the story allowed the children, musicians and singers to perform sounds, music, dances from around the world.
