On Friday 30th October Mile School celebrated Halloween. As part of our curriculum we look at celebrations around the world.

Halloween began during the Celtic era as a celebration of the end of the summer harvests and coinciding with All Saints Day and All Souls Day. This ancient celebration was used to scare away the evil spirits protecting the souls of those who had passed away. Today Halloween is celebrated with tricks and treats. All students were invited to dress up in a non scary costume such as a witch, ghost, pumpkin, black cat, etc. It was lovely to see homemade costumes!
