We propose a new approach targeted to products’ digital design and production, through the use of innovative technologies such as programmable electronic boards and three-dimensional design software in synergy with numerical control machines such as 3D printers, laser cutting machines and numerically controlled milling machines.
TheFabLab is an accessible place. Our technologies are available to companies, creative professionals, handicraftsmen and students who want to develop an idea or a product. We strive to make technology accessible to as many people as possible, being convinced that the Lab is one of the best tools to help people and to contribute to the society’s progress. Along with the designers, in fact, at TheFabLab professional trainers work, expert on informal education, designing and delivering coding courses, educational robotics and digital fabrication for children and teenagers. We want to promote the interest in STEAM disciplines (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) to future generations and encourage the development of creativity and computational thinking.
Our educational model for young people respect the constructionist model proposed by Seymour Papert and developed at Boston MIT: knowledge is transmitted through practical laboratory activities and experiences involving children and teenagers.
